چکیده

Aim: The experiment was planned to investigate the effect of different concentrate roughage ratios and conventional feeding systems in total mixed ration on nutrient intake, water growth, feed conversion, cost crossbred dairy calves.
Place Duration Study: present study carried out at Livestock Research Station, Anand Agricultural University, Anand, Gujarat for a period 84 days.
Methodology: A 24 healthy (8 days old) preweaned (HF×Kankrej) calves were distributed randomly into four experimental treatments. T1 (control) group fed with system T2, T3, T4 groups TMR ratio 85:15, 75:25, 65:35, respectively. recorded.
Results: daily, percent, metabolic body weight basis intake dry matter (DM), digestible nutrients (TDN), significantly (p<0.05) lower than calves. initial final (kg), height withers, heart girth, length (cm) did not differ among Total daily gain higher (65:35 ratio) compared feeding. requirement each kilogram live 65:35 (T4) control (T1). showed 21.81% (Rs 73.55/kg gain) as group.
Conclusion: resulted reduced matter, TDN, better conversion convention (T1) 21.81 percent reduction cost.

Performance of lactating dairy cows fed varying levels of total mixed ration and pasture.

Two, 8-week experiments, each using 30 lactating Holstein cows, were conducted to examine performance of animals offered combinations of total mixed ration (TMR) and high-quality pasture. Experiment 1 was initiated in mid October 2004 and Experiment 2 was initiated in late March 2005. Cows were assigned to either a 100% TMR diet (100:00, no access to pasture) or one of the following three formu...

Rumen fermentation and performance of Hanwoo steers fed total mixed ration with Korean rice wine residue

BACKGROUND This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of adding Korean rice wine residue (RWR) in total mixed ration (TMR) on in vitro ruminal fermentation and growth performance of growing Hanwoo steers. METHODS For in vitro fermentation, the experimental treatments were Control (Con: 0 % RWR + TMR), Treatment 1 (T1: 10 % RWR + TMR), and Treatment 2 (T2: 15 % RWR + TMR). The rumen flui...

In vitro evaluation of total mixed ration supplemented with exogenous fibrolytic enzymes for crossbred cows

AIM The study was conducted to evaluate the levels of exogenous fibrolytic enzymes (EFE) on in vitro digestibilities of dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM), total gas production (TGP), metabolizable energy (ME) content, and microbial biomass production (MBP). MATERIALS AND METHODS The total mixed ration (TMR) was prepared using 30% each of sorghum hay and groundnut straw and 40% compound ...

Effect of Concentrate Feeding Frequency versus Total Mixed Ration on Lactational Performance and Ruminal Characteristics of Holstein Cows

This study was conducted to determine a proper feeding regime for lactating Holstein cows during the warm season in Taiwan. In Feeding Trial, 21 lactating Holstein cows were randomly allotted into three feeding regimes in a Completely Randomized Design. The feeding regimes were roughage fed ad libitum along with concentrate fed either twice daily (2C) or four times daily (4C), and total mixed r...

Intake of High Producing Holstein Cows Grazing Pasture or Fed a Total Mixed Ration

(week 4). Intake was estimated in week 4 by dosing twice daily with 5 g Cr 2 O 3 for 10 days. Fecal samples were collected twice daily on days 7 to 11 of Cr 2 O 3 dosing, with pre-grazing pasture being sampled on days 6-10 of dosing. Fecal output, calculated from fecal chromium concentrations, and in vitro digestibility (IVDMD) were used to calculate intake (Parker et al. 1989). The intake of c...
